We had a fantastic Stewardship Saturday crew this past weekend at Zega-Lockatong Preserve! Volunteers helped to protect growing saplings with cages and removed invasive shrubs and vines encroaching on them. We found a large population of bitternut hickory saplings, mixed in with some ash and walnut, making this a very promising site to continue reducing invasives as the trees grow and take hold.
