Two farmland preservation projects completed by Hunterdon Land Trust and our partners have been highlighted on a national map by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). These farms were preserved through NRCS Agricultural Conservation Easement Program – Agricultural Land Easements, which protect croplands and grasslands on working farms and ranches by limiting nonagricultural uses of the land through conservation easements.

Schafer Farm: This 22-acre farm in Holland Township connects to hundreds of acres of preserved farmland, supporting long-term agricultural viability in the region.

Barnes Farm: This 24-acre farm in Kingwood Township contains soils of statewide importance for agriculture and is also surrounded by other preserved farms.

We are grateful to our partners who made these projects possible, including the New Jersey State Agriculture Development Committee (SADC), Hunterdon County, Holland Township, Kingwood Township, and USDA NRCS.
