HLT Photo Contest Celebrates Nature
Grab your camera or cell phone and celebrate the natural beauty of Hunterdon County for a chance to win an exclusive and private tour of Horseshoe Bend East in Kingwood.
Hunterdon Land Trust is conducting a photography contest as part of our 25th anniversary celebration this year. Participants are encouraged to visit an HLT preserve and get creative photographing plants, animals, landscapes and scenery.
Suggestions for preserves to visit include Crystal Springs Preserve in Lebanon Township; the Dvoor Farm in Flemington; Idell Preserve in Kingwood Township; Quakertown Preserve in Franklin Township and Zega-Lockatong Preserve in Delaware Township. A list and description of HLT preserves can be found here.
The preserves offer contestants the opportunity to photograph woodlands, meadows, waterways, fascinating rock formations and more.
The contest will run through August 29 2021 and is open to everyone. Participants may submit up to five photographs. Entries will be judged by a panel of professional photographers chosen by HLT, and winners will be notified on Sept. 24, 2021.
One grand-prize winner will enjoy an exclusive and private guided tour for up to 10 guests at the Horseshoe Bend East Preserve in Kingwood. The preserve offers a fascinating history and a beautiful trail to explore. The winner’s work, along with two runners up, will also be publicly credited and recognized on HLT’s social media and website.
The contest is being held in conjunction with HLT’s 25th anniversary celebration this year. Though the anniversary falls in October, HLT is planning a number of virtual and in-person events throughout the year to highlight its work, and Hunterdon County’s natural beauty and historic legacy.
