SUMMARY:Fall Fest: Fall Foliage Walk at Zega-Lockatong Preserve
DESCRIPTION:Fall Fest at Zega-Lockatong Preserve: join for one (or both!) of our back-to-back fall programs! This walk will focus on the foliage: why trees change color\, why there are so many different colors\, and why it happens here in the northeastern US. SUMMARY:Volunteer Thursday at Zega-Lockatong Preserve
DESCRIPTION:Zega-Lockatong Preserve contains a beautiful old growth forest\, where on the first Thursday of each month we work to mitigate the effects of the introduced tree pathogen beech leaf disease (BLD) for overall forest health. We target areas where the canopy is dying back from BLD\, and remove invasive shrubs while protecting native saplings from herbivory.
