The Event

Hunterdon Land Trust invites you to join us on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 5:00pm for an evening celebrating 25 years of preserving and protecting the places you love in Hunterdon County! This year we are honoring Larry LaFevre, Board Secretary, for his service and dedication to HLT along with owners of Basil Bandwagon Natural Market, Ralph Celebre and Susan Haase, for their commitment as business leaders to HLT’s mission.

Come celebrate 25 years and more than 10,000 acres preserved with a short video, a lively discussion with our honorees, a silent auction, and a live auction for a week-long stay at a property in Breckenridge, Colorado. At the conclusion of our main program, please join us for one of our fascinating workshops: a cooking demo highlighting local food led by Chef Matt McPherson of Matt’s Red Rooster Grill or a conversation on ecological landscape design by Stephen Panasci, owner of Agrario Design.

Farmers' Market Cooking Demonstration with Matt McPherson

Please join us for a cooking demonstration highlighting local food in New Jersey led by Matt McPherson. This recipe, created by Matt, will be celebrating the best of what’s in season. Bon Appetit!

About Matt McPherson

A Culinary Institute of America (Hyde Park) graduate and Hunterdon County, NJ native, Matt McPherson has stayed true to his local roots integrating the freshest locally grown and harvested ingredients into his unique dishes.  A chef since childhood, Matt’s first chef’s training was right here in Hunterdon County.  Over the years, Matt has helmed many kitchens between New York and Florida.

Unable to resist the bounty of the garden state, Matt brought his talents home to establish Matt’s Red Rooster Grill in 2005.  Since that time Matt has become a pillar of the community and given back to over 100 local charities to date and was awarded Businessman of the Year in 2007 by Flemington Raritan Business Association.  Matt lives in the borough of Flemington with his wife, Erin, and their two wonderful children.  We are extraordinarily grateful for Matt’s continued support of Hunterdon Land Trust and excited to take his cooking workshop!

Ecological Concepts with Stephen Panasci

Join us for a conversation on ecological landscape design. From pollinator gardens, companion planting in your garden or how to maximize your outdoor space to benefit the environment, Stephen has the answers! Bring your questions and landscape conundrums or curiosity to this fascinating topic!
